Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny has come back with a new sound for the release of his seventh studio album, “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS,” Jan. 5.

Benito Ocasio, also known by stage name Bad Bunny, has been working on revising his music style each release, with his latest album shocking fans and non-fans alike. The album has received praise from listeners as he has mixed traditional and modern genres of Puerto Rican music, displaying a unique and refreshing approach to each track.

Ocasio has released a total of seven studio albums, one extended play (EP), one compilation album and over 100 singles ever since he came on the scene in 2013.

Throughout his career, Ocasio has been known as a pioneer of the new generation of reggaeton, and has become the tenth most listened to artist in the world on the music streaming platform Spotify.

The project consists of 17 songs and is an hour and two minutes long, with every track having a different energy to it. The album cover, featuring two plastic chairs with a tropical background, is reminiscent of old photographs, to which many have shared similar memories which in turn, creates a home like environment, setting the nostalgic tone of the album.

The most popular song off of the album currently is “DtMF,” which is a bittersweet tune with heartfelt lyrics about his regrets in missing the moments where he was in love. This song in particular has been used in a video trend where fans show times where they wished they took more time
to take photos and live in the moment.

Other songs that many have enjoyed are “NUEVAYol,” ‘PIToRRO DE COCO” and “BAILE INoLVIDABLE” which employ samples from old salsa songs and have been able to connect older generations to a new wave of music as he mixes his trademark electronic beats with the nostalgia of the old-school samples.

Other tracks, such as “VOY A LLeVARTE PA PR” and “PERFuMITO NUEVO,” bring back Ocasio’s familiar reggaeto beats, ensuring that there are a variety of genres for every person to enjoy.

“DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS” is Ocasio’s love letter to his home of Puerto Rico and is a clear display of his growth as an artist as he continues to create a bridge that can connect all generations of listeners alike.
