Neuroscience Club – Thursdays at Lunch in C-123
Neuroscience Club is a place where students can come and learn about different parts of the brain, having fun activities that facilitate the learning in a collaborative way.
“Out goal is also to promote curiosity about biology, and neuroscience and to foster a deeper understanding of the human brain,” said senior president Kimia Abdollahi. “We don’t just try to discuss and bore people about neuroscience, but we try to make it into fun activities and really delve deeper on how that connects in our everyday lives.”
Those interested in learning more about different ways the brain works can come to the club while also making friends with like-minded individuals.
Joy Card Project – Fridays at Lunch in B-118
Joy Card project aims to create uplifting cards for senior citizens, reducing loneliness and providing emotional support.
“I started Joy Card Project because small actions can have a big impact,” said freshman president Halya Joseph. “Writing cards is simple, but it helps people feel seen and supported.”
The club offers students an opportunity to make a true difference in their community, while connecting with other volunteers and earning service hours that hold meaning.
American Sign Language (ASL) Club – Thursdays at Lunch in D-104
ASL Club aims to bring awareness to the deaf community, while allowing others to learn the language and be able to communicate better while picking up useful skills.
“ASL Club teaches the basics of American Sign Language in a comprehensible fashion along with applying what we learn over the year to school events,” said senior president Sofia Galleguillos. “Our cabinet found a lot of interest in learning ASL and club activities when we first joined it.”
The club welcomes any and all people looking to become friends with others, while also learning a new language in a fun and comfortable environment.
