The Kansas City Chiefs, who are last year’s Super Bowl winners, will play the Baltimore Ravens to kick off the new National Football League (NFL) season on Thursday Night Football.

Other highly rated teams besides the Chiefs include the Ravens, 49er’s, Buffalo Bills and the Detroit Lions. Some notable players on those teams include Lamar Jackson, Nick Bosa, Josh Allen and Amon-Ra St Brown. 

The Chiefs are the Super Bowl favorites as they have won the past two seasons. The favorite for the most valuable player is Patrick Mahomes who is the Chiefs star quarterback. The team has been very successful in recent years, so it makes sense that they are favorites once again. 

There are many other individual stars across the NFL. One of them is the San Francisco 49er’s running back Christian McCaffrey who is the favorite for the offensive player of the year award as he has been an outstanding player for the last couple of years since being traded from the Carolina Panthers to the 49er’s. He has totalled 20 touchdowns and 2,205 yards since the trade. 

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett is the favorite for the defensive player of the year award, and he is known for being an unstoppable force on the edge as he has tallied up 88.5 sacks throughout his seven year career. 

Some of the teams that could get the number one overall pick by being the worst team in the NFL include the New England Patriots, New York Giants, Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers. 

There will be many entertaining matchups this season, but some of the most exciting are the Ravens versus Chiefs, which will be a rematch of the American football conference championships. More games that are expected to be exciting are the Green Bay Packers versus the Philadelphia Eagles which is being played in Brazil, and the Dallas Cowboys versus the Eagles, who are heated rivals. They are some of the best teams in the league and have one of the biggest rivalries in the country. They matchup against each other two times a season. 

Another major aspect of the new NFL season starting is fantasy football where anywhere from six to 32 people get together and have their own drafts. They pick the best players and build their “fantasy” teams with them. The consensus number one overall pick this year in fantasy football is Christian McCaffrey who is expected to be the best running back in the league this season. The new NFL season will have something to enjoy for everyone.
