Hit singer, songwriter and actress, Sabrina Carpenter released her long-awaited album, “Short N’ Sweet,” Aug. 23.
The album contains 12 songs, two of which are her hit singles “Espresso” and “Please Please Please,” which were released months prior. Fans are enjoying the diversity and variety of songs in the album, ranging from many upbeat songs to slower, deeper songs. Some favorites are “Taste,” “Good Graces,” “Dumb & Poetic” and “Sharpest Tool.”
While enjoying the songs, fans have noticed that some are about her past relationships and possibly her current relationship with Barry Keoghan. Speculation on the internet is floating around the song, “Coincidence,” which is rumored to be about singer Camila Cabello and singer and past partner of Carpenter, Shawn Mendes. In the song, Carpenter claims that he went from being in Los Angeles with her to hanging out with his ex-girlfriend, Cabello, at Coachella in Palm Springs.
Fans are thoroughly enjoying her witty lyrics and comical puns woven into her songs. In addition to them picking apart each song one by one, Carpenter released a music video to the song, “Taste,” featuring actress Jenna Ortega. The music video depicts Carpenter fighting with another girl, Ortega, over a man. It is meant to correlate to the 1992 film, “Death Becomes Her”, starring actress Meryl Streep. This actor is rumored to be representing Mendes, who Carpenter hung out with, resulting in a short-lived “situationship.”
Nevertheless, Carpenter is soaring to success after headlining at the most recent Coachella festival and at the Outsidelands festival, Aug. 10. She released two new songs, one to vinyls available in stores, called “Needless To Say” and one to her online store, “Busy Woman.”
At the Music Television (MTV) Video Music Awards, Sept. 11, Carpenter was nominated for “Best Pop Video,” “Best Art Direction,” “Best Song,” “Best Direction,” “Best Editing” and “Best Artist.”
During the summer, she announced her “Short N’ Sweet Tour,” with guest artists like Amaarae, Griff and Declan McKenna. Fans all over the world scoured ticket websites in hopes of being able to attend this exciting tour. While many were unsuccessful and claim that fake fans took the tickets before they could, others will be attending the hyped-up tour.
As she continues to fly around the world spreading her music, Los Angeles fans will be waiting for her “Short N’ Sweet” self to come into town, starting Nov. 15 at various venues.
