Writing lyrics as fast as the speed of light and pumping out hit songs, Sabrina Carpenter released yet another hit album, Aug. 29, by the name of “Man’s Best Friend.” Almost one year previous to the release of her newest album, Carpenter debuted another hugely popular album, “Short n’ Sweet.” Almost every song on this album ranked on the Billboard’s Hot 100, with “Please Please Please” sitting comfortably at number one. The lead track of “Man’s Best Friend” is the hit song “Manchild.” “Manchild” was released two months prior to the full album as a teaser for what was to come and peaked at number one on the Billboard’s Hot 100. Along with “Manchild,” other popular songs on the album include “House Tour,” which is an upbeat song with fun rhythms and lyrics; “Never Getting Laid,” a slower song with clever and punny lyrics; and “Tears,” a raunchy dance song with a haunting theme. For the debut of Carpenter’s new album she released a music video for the song “Tears” along with her album. The music video was colorful and full of references to films like “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” The video also starred actor and Academy Award nominee Colman Domingo with Carpenter. In the album, the only songs that have music videos are “Manchild” and “Tears,” but Carpenter has used a different tactic than most people, and has begun producing variations of the ending of her “Tears” music video everyday since the release of the video. Many fans with tickets to the upcoming extension of the “Short n’ Sweet” tour have raised concerns regarding the format of the tour and what songs are going to be included. Many fans that favor her older albums and songs are upset with the fact that she may remove her original and more favored songs from the set list of her tour. In an interview with “Good Morning America,” Carpenter discussed the background of her songs and how most of her songs are written about someone in her love life. The interviewer asked whether her love interests find discomfort in these songs written after them, however Carpenter proceeded to say that they should feel honored instead that she wrote something about them at all. As her songs continue to rise to fame and play on the radio on repeat, Carpenter fans will continue to await her soaring successes.
