With fall semester ending, the school’s talent show was held Dec. 6 from 6-8 p.m. in Anderson Hall, with tickets costing $5 per student and $7 per adult.
“I participated in the talent show in 2023 and it was so fun,” junior Gianna Buondelmonte said. “I ended up making new friends and winning 3rd place.”
The Talent show, which involves around five to 10 student performers, had about 18 people applying, which led to Student Council (STUCO) holding auditions for the first time in mid November.
“Auditions were very chill and super welcoming,” junior Elissa Rosenhaus said. “The student council members were incredibly warm, supportive and amazing.”
STUCO has put in a lot of effort to make the show a success, making decorations, rehearsals, publicizing and preparing prizes.
“A lot has gone on in STUCO for the Talent Show,” junior Kate Hoke said. “Students should attend the show to not only see ECR Step but also some amazing talent from their peers.”
On the night of the event, performers sang, danced, read poetry and displayed their numerous other talents on-stage for students to enjoy.
“This was such a fun bonding experience and I definitely made some new friends in the process,” Rosenhaus said. “Every student’s talents were amazing and it was so cool seeing people showcase their specialties.”
For students who attended, some teachers offered extra credit to promote participation in school events to grow the school’s sense of community.
“I am very happy that teachers want to support the arts and students’ talents,” Rosenhaus said. “It’s always great for turnout when extra credit is involved.”
The talent show provides students at the school who chose to perform with the opportunity to spotlight their astounding skills.
“Honestly I love performing,” Buondelmonte said. “It’s one of my favorite things in the world to do. I figured this was an opportunity to share my talent and perform for the school.”
