The school’s boys and girls basketball team’s have had successful preseason games and look forward to starting their upcoming league as they have worked hard and formed stronger team chemistry.
“I think the team will perform great this season,” sophomore Navnith Behara said. “We’ve improved a lot from last season and we look a lot better.”
With their hours of practice since summer, the school’s basketball program has dedicated time and effort into preparing for their season and improving their skills. They have a positive attitude and strive to perform their best in every game.
“The few preseason games we’ve played have been to find ourselves as a team and how we will be able to perform throughout the season,” Behara said. “They have gone well and our team has started to come together.”
The preseason performances of the basketball team built up the team spirit and bond between the players that will assist them in winning as many games as possible in the regular season.
“As a team we all get along because we share interests as well as just enjoy being in each other’s presence,” junior Sophie Levy-Wright said. “We enjoy practices together and games together because of our team spirit.”
In addition to their almost daily practices, the team has had the opportunity to connect with one another and strengthen their relationships, along with their basketball skills.
“I think the team will perform great if we stick to our game plan,” Levy-Wright said. “We have to play the way we play, and not the way other teams expect us to play.”
Both teams have had the chance to put the plays they have practiced together into action during their preseason games. They will soon be ready to make their dedication and commitment come to life in their league starting in early January.
“I am looking forward to playing and cheering for my teammates the most,” Levy-Wright said. “It’s so fun being in the spirit and knowing it’s basketball season makes it even more fun and enjoyable.”
The program is prepared to continue putting their all in and supporting each other. The cohesive teams and their resilience will be reflected in their future successes as the league begins.
“The team’s chemistry is great and we are all looking forward to having a great season,” Behara said. “I’m looking forward to our next competitive games where we have to fight and give our all to win.”
