Atlanta rapper, Future, released the highly anticipated mixtape, “Mixtape Pluto,” Sept. 20, becoming his third project of the year after releasing two albums with the producer Metro Boomin.
Several people consider “Mixtape Pluto” to be his second best project of the year along with his other releases this year, “We Don’t Trust You” and “We Still Don’t Trust You.”
The project has 17 songs that lasts 44 minutes, the album cover features a house called the “dungeon,” an iconic place in Atlanta rap history where many rappers careers started, including Future himself.
Many people feel as if some of the songs on the mixtape are similar to other modern-day trap rap beats. Many also enjoy a lot of the songs that are raw and less melodical performances. The most popular song of “Mixtape Pluto” is “Teflon Don,” which is the first track on the project and was bound to be a hit with a trap beat and consistent flow from Future that keeps the audience engaged with the entertaining bars. It is a well-liked song on the album by fans.
On the other hand, “Plutoski” tends to be a skip for many, as he intentionally mumbled over the hook, which many people think ruined the verses on the song. Along with the several comments made about the mixtape, another is the fact that there is not much cohesion within the album. This also lowers the value of content within the project as it makes it seem hollow in a sort of way because of the poor cohesion.
Future’s artist performance has been considered adequate, as he put a lot of work into the project and tried to keep classic Atlanta trap album style, paying homage to all that have come before him.
“Mixtape Pluto” is regarded as a mixtape that has a lot of replay value as there are many catchy verses that people will not be able to get out of their head.
